Rental prices
When searching for a property you should ensure you are only being charged market rents, which are the ‘going rate’ and are affected by the availability and cost of other similar accommodation in the area.
Before committing to a property check the prices of other similar properties in the area, comparing whether it is furnished/unfurnished, has a garden, is modern, energy efficient and has decent room sizes. By doing this you will be able to get a good picture of what is a reasonable rental price.
Remember, don't be afraid to negotiate. If you find your desired property but it seems over priced, you can always ask the landlord to consider reducing the rent.
