Empty Homes Grant
 
This grant is towards bringing an empty dwelling back into use and to a ‘decent homes standard’ when it has been empty for at least six months. You can receive up to £25,000. The owner must allow the Council to allocate tenants to the property for at least one year for each £1,500 of grant up to a maximum of 5 years where the full £7,500 is offered. This may be achieved through ‘nomination rights’ or by joining the Greater Norwich Leasing Scheme (this is run by Norwich City Council, Broadland District Council and South Norfolk District Council, through the Greater Norwich Housing Partnership).

The owner must also agree to cap the rent charged on the property to the applicable Housing Allowance or Local Reference Level Rent. This is to enable the Council to place people who are in receipt of Local Housing Allowance or Housing Benefit.

Disabled Facilities Grant

This loan is towards adapting the home, or providing special facilities in the home for a person with a disability.

You can receive up to £25,000 means-tested grant towards your home, depending on the needs of the person. You can also receive up to £25,000 as an interest free loan to top up the grant if it isn’t sufficient to meet the necessary needs of the disabled person.For a more detailed explanation please contact Norwich Care & Repair on 01603 283337
 

Decent Homes Loan

This loan is an interest-free loan to enable homeowners who are in receipt of one or more of the benefits at the bottom of the page, to bring their property to the ‘decent homes standard’.

You can receive up to a £25,000 interest-free loan that that does not need to be repaid until the property is sold or transferred to another owner.

Minor Works Grant

This grant is for home owners in receipt of one or more of the benefits at the bottom of the page and is for small scale repairs and improvements; such as small ‘emergency’ repairs, home security and adaptation to enable someone to return from hospital.

You can receive up to £1,500 in any 12 month period, not repayable.

Warm Front Grant

This grant is funded by the government (DEFRA) and is for home owners in receipt of one or more of the benefits at the bottom of the page to improve heating and insulation within the home.

You can receive up to £2,700 towards insulation and heating improvements (up to £4,000 for oil central heating).

Warm Homes Grant

This grant is our joint scheme with E.ON to reduce energy bills and keep homes warm and healthy by such methods as the installation of cavity wall and loft insulation.

If you are a home owner over 70 and in receipt of one or more benefits at the bottom of the page, you should be eligible for a full grant (100%) covering the cost of the works. If you are not over 70 years of age or receiving a qualifying benefit then you will still be eligible for a partial grant towards the cost of insulation measures, this typically covers between 40-60% of the cost.

Warm Lets Grant

The grant is for private sector landlord that are part of the accredited landlord scheme and would like to improve the energy efficiency of their property through insulation, double glazing and heating improvements.
If you are an Accredited Landlord you could qualify for £6,000 per property to impove energy efficiency.
